A hidden gem in the Midwest, Braham (Minn.) Cretin Derham-Hall 2018 guard Ryan Larson has a lot of game packed into his 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame. A terrific scorer and passer, Larson is still waiting for his first scholarship offer, but a handful of Division 1 programs are taking note.

“I’ve heard from Nebraska-Omaha, Air Force, South Dakota, Northern Iowa, and I just heard from Furman recently as well,” Larson told NY2LA Sports.

Larson said both Furman and South Dakota appear most interested at this time.

Furman: “They’re looking for a point guard. They said they like how I play. They’re really interested. They want to get to know me better and come up to watch a game this winter.”

South Dakota: “They’re excited about me. They’re going to come down to watch me during the year.”

Larson will visit South Dakota unofficially on Nov. 13. He’s also expecting North Dakota State and North Dakota to watch him at open gyms later this fall.

When it comes time to make a decision next year, Larson will be looking for a balance between academics and athletics.

“I’m looking for a good coaching staff that cares about its players,” he said. “I want a good program, but also a good school.”

Larson plays with Howard Pulley during the travel season.
