Howard Pulley sophomore David Roddy was in contention for this award last week, and he showed his disapproval by playing the best basketball of his young career.

The 6-foot-6 bruising forward is a perfect fit in Pulley's rotation, and his playing style has started to turn into some serious numbers statistically.

Roddy scored in double-figures in all four Los Angeles contests, averaging 13.5 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the floor.

At 225+ pounds, Roddy gives Pulley a unique weapon on both ends of the floor. A star quarterback on the football field, Roddy is a very smart basketball player, and he's translated that into a crucial role on one of the best squads in the country.

At this point, Roddy is criminally-underrated as a national prospect, a notion that should change quickly if the sophomore continues this progression into Peach Jam.

He doesn't have a true position, but that's part of his appeal. He can guard multiple positions, plays consistent interior defense and is in better shape every time he steps on the floor.

Sophomores rarely put up these types of numbers in the EYBL, so consider this Roddy's coming out party as a valuable commodity on the circuit.

After a month and a half of preparation with his teammates, his next session has the potential to be his coming out party as a prospect.

We can get this out of the way right off the bat - yes, Buddy is Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim's son.

While that name certainly carries a lot of weight, Buddy has proven to be good.

Really good.

In fact, we'd be writing about him no matter what his last name is. Put simply, Boeheim is a sharpshooter.

The 6-foot-5 guard is a marksmen from deep, and is a threat to launch well-beyond the three-point line. He has proven to fit in perfectly to head coach Jim Hart's system with the Rocks, taking his opportunity and running.

We'd like to see a little more consistency given how good of a shooter he's capable of being, and if he continues his streak of hot shooting, the Rocks become a very formidable opponent in North Augusta.
