Well it is great to see that we held serve in EYBL Session 3 in Hampton, VA going 4-0 to increase our EYBL record to 11-0 with only Session 4 left in Suwanee, GA Memorial Day Weekend and 29-0 overall.  I'm am so proud to see the toughness and determination come out of the team this weekend starting with competing without Jeremiah Coddon who attended a prestigious Football Camp and didn't make the trip.  Add Tre Jones breaking his thumb in the closing minutes of the second game, Southern Stampede, and not playing in the final two games, Isaac Johnson suffered a broken nose in the same game but played anyway and performed great.  D.J. Hunter broke a bone in his right foot during the "game of the weekend" against California Supreme and couldn't play in the final contest, King James.

With that said the Civil War vets grinded it out to find a way to win in every game like we've done all season, win various ways depending on the teams size, strength and all different styles.  To win against the best in America the players have to rise above themselves to come together as a team to defeat all odds and believe in yourself even when others doubt you.  We started with a win against the Georgia Stars, defending Peach Jam Champions, on Friday after a very long travel day starting at 5:00 am having a early Saturday morning game, 9:30 am, against Southern Stampede with the leading scorer in EYBL and we see why.  But we also had a leading scorer of our own, JR Trent going for 46 points, 9 rebounds to lead us to victory in lieu of Tre and Isaac going down.

Losing Tre Jones during the end of that game going into the "Game of the Weekend" California Supreme knowing we've lost our PG the players bonded together and said this one is for Tre and they went out and showed the EYBL world who they are to beat a team with two (2) 7' footers who are both ranked in the top ten in America.  Brad Davison stepped up to fill Tre Jones role while doing a great job of maintaining his own role finishing with 37 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists, JR Trent pumping in another 20 points for the win.  In the finale Sunday morning we competed against King James with six (6) players to win again but limp out of Virginia still undefeated but heads held high with much respect from our peers in EYBL.  We also played with out DJ Hunter (entire game) and JR Trent (half game), with lingering injuries, quad, achilles, etc, but Brad Davison put another great game together 25 points to lead us home.

So like I said earlier we looked like Civil War and World War II vets minus the bandages on the head with wooden crutches to remain on top of the EYBL charts for at least another Session while taking a two week rest before the final five (5) game Session in Georgia.  Even though we're short handed heading into the final Session we won't take our foot off the pedal and continue to push on to win our Division B and get ready for the Nike Peach Jam Championship in July.

Last but not least congratulations to Brad Davison picking two D1 offers during a dead period from ACC - NC State and Georgia Tech and hope for a speedy recovery to Tre Jones (4-6 weeks), DJ Hunter (5 weeks) and JR Trent (2 weeks) so we can finish the season with a bang.
